Dear Recover America Friend,
We continue to celebrate and praise the Lord for the results of the recent Greater Houston area school board elections as candidates who have expressed their belief in Biblical values won all three positions unseating incumbents in Cy-Fair ISD, the 3rd largest school district in Texas. And, self-professed Biblical values candidates are in three of four run-off races, all against incumbents, in Houston ISD, the largest school district in Texas. This is unprecedented and reveals that parents are concerned for their children. (See Mark 9:24)
We Christians need to get out the vote (GOTV) in the four Houston ISD runoff races
We believe electing Biblically focused school board leaders is one of, if not the single most pressing issue we face today as our children are frequently being overly sexualizing, indoctrinated with various forms of Critical Race Theory, and socially engineered by radical theories that fuel gender confusion by their schools. If this is allowed to go on while they are sleeping under our roofs, think of how easily their minds can be twisted once they leave home and attend a university. At the same time, our children are not being taught the fundamentals of reading, writing, and math, and many school districts have become financial disasters. Each of these issues is clearly present in Houston ISD.
Thus, it is imperative that we GOTV based on Biblical values in these HISD runoff elections for Districts I, V, VI, and VII. Early voting starts Monday, November 29th and runs through Tuesday, December 7th. The runoff election day is December 11th, which is a Saturday. We will share more details and resources on the HISD runoff races in a future newsletter.
Pastor meetings and candidate forums planned
Recover America and our 501c4 sister organization, Recover America Action, have been and will continue to focus on encouraging Pastors to inform and mobilize the members of their congregations to be engaged in the education of their children and to vote for school board candidates that reflect Biblical values.
We are currently setting up pastor mobilization meetings in the four HISD school districts with run-off races to occur shortly after Thanksgiving. God willing, we also hope to have candidate forums hosted at churches in each of these four districts, giving voters the opportunity to hear directly from the runoff candidates more about their values. We are also planning our expansion beyond Houston as we expand our 2022 focus to school boards across the great state of Texas.
